A really fantastically peculiar thing

Quote of the week:

For now, there came a morning when something rather peculiar happened to him. And this thing, which as I say was only rather peculiar, soon caused a second thing to happen which was very peculiar. and then the very peculiar thing, in its own turn, caused a really fantastically peculiar thing to occur.

Quote of the week:

The sea, the sea, the sea. It rolled and rolled and called to me. Come in, it said, come in.

What a strange thing to have happen

Quote of the week:

"What a strange thing to have happen," he thought (just as you must be thinking right now). "This game is much more serious than I thought, for here I am riding on a road I've never seen, going to a place I've never heard of, and all because of a tollbooth which came from nowhere. I'm certainly glad that it's a nice day for a trip," he concluded hopefully, for, at the moment, this was the one thing he definitely knew.

Mom, I can't remember the exact moment that I met you for the first time, but it must have been wonderful to see the smile on your face and the love in your eyes.

Border Pages

Text Page
I especially love your blue eyes, Mom. They look at me with kindness when you hug me, become sad when I'm ill, and are full of smiles when I tell you that I love you.

Text Page
Mom, I love your kisses: the soft kiss that shows me how happy you are to see me, the warm kiss when we have to part, and those extra large kisses that console me when I'm upset.

Text Page
I love your voice. Mom, I remember when I was young, you sang me sweet songs and told me exciting stories. I love how you held me ever so tightly and reassured me when I was frightened. It still reassures me just to hear your voice.

Text Page
You also prepare so many good things to eat. No one can cook lasagna the way that you do!
In short, Mom, I love everything about you.

Border Pages

Text Page
When we walk together along the streets in Warrenton, or when we go places, I am so happy that you are my Mom. You are the greatest!

Text Page
When you're with your friends or other family members, I watch as you chat and laugh with them. I think you're the best Mom of all!

Text Page
At times, in my life, you had to scold me, but you were only trying to teach me right and wrong. I wouldn't trade you for any other Mom in the world!

Text Page
I'd like to give you a beautiful and very special present; I'd like to give you a little bit of the sun to brighten up those days when you're sad.

Border Pages

Text Page
Mom, if I could ride on a star, I'd climb up into the sky and grab a piece of the moon to make you a dress of light. Then you'd become a princess. Although, you're already a princess to me!

Text Page
I'd like to pick the sweetest smelling flower for you; when you hold it, its perfume will always make you think of me.
Mom, I'd like to give you a special charm to make you forever appear as loving and beautiful as I see you.

Text Page
I'd like to give you a magic wand that you could wave and have me appear whenever you wish. Then, you would never feel alone.

Text Page
I'd like to give you an eraser to rub out the tiredness and worries that I sometimes see reflected on your face. Then, you could always be happy and smiling.

Text Page
Mom, I'd like to buy you the best gift in the world. I'd like to let you know just how wonderful I think you are when you hug me, talk with me, and just sit and listen to my problems.
I'd like to give you your every wish!

Text Page
But the sun and the moon are too far away, and flowers wither quickly. Magic wands only exist in fairytales, and I'm afraid that my eraser is only good for rubbing out mistakes on paper.
Even so, I know that a kiss and a very big "I love you, Mom!" can make you smile with happiness.

Text Page
I will always cherish the lessons you've
taught me, the love you've given me
and just knowing that you are
my Mom.

With love from
Jessica

Text Page
Mom, I hope that you like
this special book that tells
exactly how I feel about you.
